Home, Lawn and Garden Day 2019

Home, Lawn and Garden Day 2019

Turn March into magic with educational classes, inspirational speakers, and horticulture treasures from a variety of exceptional businesses and artisans at the 17th annual Home, Lawn and Garden Day sponsored by University of Illinois Extension McLean County Master Gardeners. This event will take place from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 2 at Central Catholic High School, Bloomington. Registration opens January 7!

Attendees select four workshops from over 35 trending horticulture topics and also attend the welcome and keynote sessions. Dr. David Kopsell will open the morning by inspiring us all with “Landscape Design Tips, Techniques and Secrets.” You will learn some basic design principles, color and shape combinations, and plant choices to help make your yard look amazing. During the mid-day session, Master Gardeners you often hear on the WJBC radio show will host a question and answer segment of questions submitted by the attendees during registration. Researched-based solutions will be presented, combined with fun and practical advice! Keynote speaker Jack Barnwell, a landscape contractor, author, and award-winning garden designer based on Mackinac Island, Michigan, will also share the best techniques for design, plant selection, and maintenance practices that create stunning displays of color and form, while minimizing care so that anyone can handle it!

A $50 registration fee includes workshops, vendors and exhibitors, morning refreshments, lunch, door prizes, and silent auction.
