Chase Rice did not make it to the NFL, but he was a high school state champion in football and played in college.

Chase admits he wasn’t the biggest man on defense. However, he had something else that made him good on the field in college at North Carolina.

“That was my biggest thing that I had in college. I was 230 pounds, I wasn’t the biggest linebacker. I wasn’t the fastest; but I was pretty fast … But my biggest advantage was my brain. I could sit there, I watched a lot of film, I put a lot of time into the game. I tried to know where the ball was going before anybody else did, and that’s why I became such a good player.”

Chase was a high school football champion at AC Reynolds High School in North Carolina. That is the same high school that produced Barstool Sports’ Caleb Pressley … Oh, and CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs.

While Chase was not able to make a career out of football, he is doing pretty well using his brain to create music. He has released five studio albums, four EPs and ten singles. Those singles include the Billboard #1 songs “Eyes On You” and Chase’s collaboration with Florida Georgia Line “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.”
