On stage performing may be one of Justin Moore’s favorite places in the world, and he says, “I normally don’t get nervous to play any show. You know, it’s what we do, it’s what we love, it’s kinda who we are, and it’s probably the place that I feel most comfortable, is on stage.”

However, Justin admits there are still some stages that make him very nervous. For instance, he says, “There’s somethin’ about the Ryman Auditorium. There’s two places actually I get nervous to play music – the Ryman Auditorium and church.”

It was actually the late Charlie Daniels who helped Justin understand why he got so nervous in those particular venues. “One of the first times I played the Grand Ole Opry happened to be at The Ryman,” recalls Justin. “I told that to Charlie Daniels because he could tell I was nervous. (It was) the first time I ever met him, and he said, ‘That’s cause it matters to you. If you weren’t nervous you ought not be here or church, ’cause it matters to you.’ And so, I thought that was cool.”

Justin says The Ryman also makes him nervous just from the feeling he gets stepping onto that historic stage. He says, “When you walk out on that stage in that venue, there’s just a different feeling than other venues. I don’t know how to explain it or why that is. It’s the history, it’s all the artists who came before you and have walked on that stage, and it’s just special.”
