Fresh off of being honored as one of CMT’s Artists of the Year, Carly Pearce is about to celebrate another incredible week, next week. First, she will play two sold out shows, on October 26th & 27th, at The Ryman Auditorium, otherwise known as “The Mother Church of Country Music.” Not only is The Ryman a venue Carly dreamt of headlining her whole life, but the fact that people are paying their hard-earned money to come see her perform is a big deal to Carly. She also feels like the Ryman is the perfect place to end her year of touring her 29: Written in Stone album.
“Being able to sell hard tickets is really where you can see what is the true value of your art. There’s nothing fabricated about selling tickets. And so, to be able to come off of this crazy last, really two years, and come home to Nashville and play two proper nights in the place that I love so much … that I dreamt of singing in my whole life … is going to be so special, and it’s actually kind of the way that we’re gonna end the year. And I think it’s a really great way to kind of put 29 down, let her live, obviously on in my career forever, but also turn the page a bit in a really exciting way.”
As if playing The Ryman two nights in a row is not enough excitement for one week, the very next night, on October 28th, Carly will be inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. Knowing the list of her fellow Kentuckians who are already part of that Hall of Fame, it’s almost hard for Carly to put into words what that honor means to her.
“I mean, just very taken back by that. I feel like anybody who’s ever made any kind of waves in music that are from the state are in that museum. I’ve been there, I know who all is a part of that – Patty Loveless, The Judds, Ricky Skaggs, Alison Krauss, Lee Ann Womack. It’s just such a big honor and you’re just like, oh my goodness, they felt like I was worthy and that my music meant something, and that’s all I ever wanted as a little girl in Kentucky. It just feels really special to be recognized like that.”
And the year still won’t be over for Carly after playing two nights at The Ryman and being inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. She is nominated for five CMA Awards, including a chance to win CMA Female Vocalist of the Year for a second time, plus four nominations for “Never Wanted to Be That Girl” with Ashley McBryde, for Single, Song, Musical Event and Video of the Year.
