Rising country music star Lainey Wilson made her acting debut on the season 5 premiere of Yellowstone last night (11/13).

It was the cap to a pretty amazing week for Lainey. Wednesday (11/9) she was named both the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year as well as the CMA New Artist of the Year.

During the premiere of the new season of Yellowstone, there was a party to celebrate John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) being elected as Governor of Montana. Lainey’s character named “Abby” is at the party to sing. While waiting for her time to sing she interacts with Beth Dutton (played by Kelly Reilly).

Abby tells Beth she does not date cowboys because she doesn’t want to come after the ranch, the animals, the job or the rodeo on the list of priorities. However, Abby does end up dancing with Yellowstone ranch hand Ryan (played by Ian Bohen).

Lainey will be in future episodes this season as Abby. It will be interesting to see how much of a role she has in the show.
