The Voice Season 23 will feature a key competition change and Reba McEntire will serve as the Mega Mentor.

According to Variety, Reba will help the contestants that make it through the battle rounds on each team prepare their performances for the Knockout Rounds. The Knockouts are slated to begin April 17th.

Season 23 will be Blake Shelton’s final season as a coach on The Voice. He has been the only coach in his red chair for every season since the inaugural season in 2011. Reba was the Battle Rounds advisor for Team Blake in that first season. Having her return as the Mega Mentor for Blake’s last season brings it full circle for the two country super stars.

A Key change to the competition this season includes a “Playoff Pass.” Variety reports this will allow a coach to advance both artists in a Battle Round performance to the Playoffs, skipping the Knockout Rounds completely. Each coach will have a single “Playoff Pass” and a “Steal” during the Battle Rounds.

Season 23 of The Voice with Blake, returning coach Kelly Clarkson and new coaches Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan will premiere Monday, March 6th on NBC.
