A lawsuit filed against Temu claims the company’s app “gains access to literally everything on your phone.”

The class action lawsuit — filed on behalf of more than a dozen plaintiffs in Massachusetts, California, Illinois, New York and Virginia – accuses Temu of “purposely and intentionally” hiding malware and spyware in its app, as well as “deceiving” customers about how the company uses their data.

Officials with the Chinese company, which has been in business since September 2022, have not yet reacted to the suit.
